Notes Mimeograph; this item has been received with gratitude from E. Glenn Hinson, friend of Thomas Merton. It is one of numerous items received from Hinson including 13 mimeographs which he received directly from Thomas Merton in the 1960s. Included in this group are mimeographs by Merton of unpublished works such as Notes on Art and Worship, as well as conference essays such as Conferences on the Rule of St. Benedict, and a Choir Novitiate copy from 1959 of Selections on Prayer. This collection of items represent an important first look at what Merton was working on later in his life, representing his writing before publication. Perhaps in the order of 100 copies of each essay were mimeographed and distributed to friends and acquaintances.
