This is truly an exquisite find – a full run, 42 issues, of the Poets of the Year series, 1941-1944 (along with an introductory pamphlet). Each issue was printed by a different free press and each year is housed in a specially labelled slip case.  For the first three years, 12 issues were published annually while in 1944 there were 6 published (including Merton’s book of poetry). This collection comes from the personal library of James Laughlin, founder and publisher of New Directions, the press which printed this series (with his ex-libris sticker inside front cover of introductory pamphlet).
